Again, the Lord has blessed us abundantly in many ways this week and particularly in one instance. I made a promise that I would not write about it on this blog so I can’t break the promise but would be willing to tell you about it in person. It is amazing how that the Lord is opening doors, not because we deserve it but that His name would be glorified.
I did not get an appointment this week with the Oncologist at the cancer clinic in Abbotsford. However, I do have an appointment on May 3 and also with the kidney specialist the same day.
As for myself, I can feel that my breathing is becoming more difficult at times. I hope and pray that treatments will start soon. I still feel good, have a good appetite and sleep well.
Today, I just have little desire to write on the blog. Many other things are on my mind. I will write again soon. Thank you for your prayers and all other tokens of love.
John
In these and like cases, what will you do without casting the anchor of your hope? WILLIAM HOOK (1600-1677)
Dear family:
ReplyDeleteHere is a song we were truly blessed by this Easter season and this is where the anchor of our soul lies:
Oh, to see the dawn
Of the darkest day:
Christ on the road to Calvary.
Tried by sinful men,
Torn and beaten, then
Nailed to a cross of wood.
CHORUS:
This, the pow’r of the cross:
Christ became sin for us;
Took the blame, bore the wrath—
We stand forgiven at the cross.
Oh, to see the pain
Written on Your face,
Bearing the awesome weight of sin.
Ev’ry bitter thought,
Ev’ry evil deed
Crowning Your bloodstained brow.
Now the daylight flees;
Now the ground beneath
Quakes as its Maker bows His head.
Curtain torn in two,
Dead are raised to life;
“Finished!” the vict’ry cry.
Oh, to see my name
Written in the wounds,
For through Your suffering I am free.
Death is crushed to death;
Life is mine to live,
Won through Your selfless love.
FINAL CHORUS:
This, the pow’r of the cross:
Son of God—slain for us.
What a love! What a cost!
We stand forgiven at the cross.
love
