2 Cor. 4 16-18

So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

Our mind set

Is your mind set on that new car that will be a rust bucket in 10 years or that new home or a higher paying job or power, prestige, earthly wealth? When your heart is set on something, notice how much of your life revolves around your mindset. Nothing breeds a false self-confidence so easily, quickly and temporally as riches.

Do you know what Christ’s heart was set on? He made it his entire life’s goal and passion to win our eternal salvation by giving up His life, and then rising again. If Christ would have been distracted by the things of this world, power, prestige, earthly wealth, he would not have won our salvation and we would still be dead in our sins. Praise God that Jesus set his heart on things above on doing His Father’s will, so that we now can have forgiveness of sins, eternal life and peace.

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Colossians 3:2

As days and months go by and I look at the days ahead, my heart and reality shows me each day that all these earthly gains are temporary and that they absolutely hold no value. Sure we need a car, a home and a job, but Jesus tells us in Psalm 62:10 if riches increase, set not your heart on them.

Matthew 6; 19 Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal,20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

May our hearts and minds always be set on Heavenly things. In the same way, may we also reflect what’s in our hearts and on our minds as we speak to one another about Christ’s victory over sin, death and hell. It’s the best mindset to have and an even better one to share!

This week was a good but busy week. God gave many opportunities to meet and talk with people. I feel blessed in many ways, God is so good, His Mercies and Grace are ever present. Bodily I feel good too with lots of energy. I did get a notice from the Cancer Agency in Vancouver that the trial will be delayed by about a week or two, that means I will not yet have to give an answer to go ahead with Chemotherapy treatments or not. I am thankful for that because I am not really ready to make the decision. It’s difficult knowing that I will get sick by taking Chemo treatments.

Thank you so much to those who contacted me in many different ways. I deeply appreciate your caring heart. God be with you all, be blessed and be a blessing.
John

Lead me Lord, lead me by the hand
And make me face the rising sun
Comfort me through all the pain
That life may bring
There's no other hope
That I can lean upon
Lead me Lord

 Lead me all my life
Walk by me, walk by me across
The lonely road that I may face
Take my arms and let your hand
Show me the way

Show the way to live inside your heart
All my days, all my life

You are my light
You're the lamp upon my feet
All the time my Lord
I need You there
You are my light
I cannot live alone
Let me stay
By Your guiding love
All through my life
Lead me Lord

Lead me Lord
Even though at times
I'd rather go alone my way
Help me take the right direction
Take Your road
Lead me Lord
And never leave my side
All my days
All my life

You are my light
You're the lamp upon my feet
All the time my Lord
I need You there
You are my light
I cannot live alone
Let me stay
By Your guiding love
All through my life
You are my light

You're the lamp upon my feet
All the time my Lord
I need You there
You are my light
I cannot live alone
Let me stay
By Your guiding love
All through my life
All through my days
Lead me, Oh Lord
Lead me Lord
